Mark Nokes was born in Oklahoma City, OK. He graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma in 2005 with a Bachelors in Music. His studies were in guitar performance. Mark has played in numerous professional settings for musicals, dance, and theatre productions. He has played for events such as the Wichita Jazz Festival and the Guitars Galore Festival in Austin, TX. In addition, Mark sat first chair in the UCO guitar ensemble performing in trios, quartets, and quintets with other fine musicians such as, Kerry Folsom, Kyle Elsten, and Jeff Carrico. He has been a freelance guitarist since 2000, and as such, has played many diverse styles of music including: jazz, funk, fusion, rock, pop, and classical. Since moving to Arizona in 2006 Mark has held a position at Music Masters Music Academy as the Director of Ensembles and guitar instructor. |
